Epoch — ends in
Reading slots from mainnet…
Three things wait for the epoch to turn.
Staking rewards land
—Inflation rewards for this epoch are calculated at the boundary and credited to stake accounts in the first blocks of the next epoch, usually within minutes. Jito MEV rewards follow separately, a little later.
New stake starts earning
—Stake you delegate now shows as activating and starts earning from the next epoch. Large network-wide changes can be spread over more than one epoch.
Unstaked SOL unlocks
—Stake deactivated during this epoch becomes withdrawable once it ends. It keeps earning until then.
Times are estimates in your local time zone, from the recent slot pace.
Slot time, last hour
Milliseconds per slot from getRecentPerformanceSamples (one sample a minute). This pace drives the countdown.
Throughput, last hour
Transactions per second from the same samples, all and non-vote.
Inflation schedule
From the on-chain inflation governor: the rate falls by the taper each year until it reaches the terminal rate.
The numbers
The last ten epochs.
How long each one took, measured from the block times of their first slots.
Reading block times…
How is the countdown calculated?
Remaining slots in the epoch times the average slot time over the last ten minutes of performance samples. The second estimate uses the pace of this epoch so far. Skipped slots still count toward the epoch, so the countdown already includes them.
How is the staking yield estimated?
Inflation rate × total supply ÷ active stake. That is what the whole network pays stakers before validator commission. It does not include Jito MEV tips, and real yield also depends on your validator's uptime.
Why can the countdown move by a few minutes?
Slot times drift with network load and skipped leaders. The clock re-reads mainnet every ten seconds and re-anchors to the newest pace.
